Ito Jintaro: Pioneering photographer

In September 2020, I visited a gallery exhibition of Ito Jintaro-san’s photos taken around 1930, around the time when Taisho era ended and Showa era had just began. This was my favorite photo in the collection. I also used to have a mushroom cut and wear frocks when I was little, and this photo reminded me of my childhood. The photo was taken in front of the Ito residence. The photo below is a photo taken in the same location. A lot has changed, but it is nice to identify the few things that have remained the same over the span of a century.
